Winter Swim Programs
Swimming in the winter is by no means a requirement for a successful and fun summer swim season, but it obviously can help. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Arlington Aquatic Club is the big, Arlington-based USA Swimming Program. The Club has pre-competition and competition groups. The pre-competition groups range from Mini Gators (similar to our Mini Tigers and coached by Julie Gallion) to High School Sprint, which trains swimmers for middle school and high school competition. The competition group trains swimmers to compete in meets throughout the year from local Potomac Valley Swimming mini meets to USA Swimming Senior National competition. AAC
Clark Swim Club - is a USA Swimming program based at Marymount University. Marymount Head Coach Mike Clark runs the programs. It offers a full range of practice options from 2 hours a week to 12 hours a week. Clark Swim Club is a member of Potomac Valley Swimming and competes in meets every month from October until May in the Washington Metro area. Clark Swim Club
Norman Swimming - is a developmental swim program, similar to Competition Swim Clinic. It is run by Matt Norman. Norman Swimming focuses on stroke technique, starts, turns and race training. The program has sessions at Washington-Lee High School on Sunday mornings. Norman does not enter swimmers in USA Swimming competitions. http://www.normanswimming.com/
York Swim Club. York is very similar to AAC. York is a member of Potomac Valley Swimming and they hold practices in a variety of pools around Northern Virginia, including Yorktown High School. They have a developmental on weekdays at Yorktown and a full range of morning, after school and weeknight age-group programs for swimmers who are new to competition and for swimmers who are training for national level competition.
